We Now Offer Dry Needling
What is Dry Needling: a technique that uses a solid filament needle to aid in treating muscle trigger points which are creating pain and discomfort. It is not a cure, it is a way to facilitate improvement and is recommended to be combined with exercise/additional treatment for maximal benefit.
Benefits: relaxes the muscles, improves blood flow, diminishes inflammation, and promotes healing.
What conditions can be treated (conditions include, but are not limited to): achilles tendonitis/tendonosis, hamstring tendonitis, hip pain, knee pain, lower back pain, headaches, muscular strains/ligament sprains, neck spasm and/or whiplash, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain/impingement syndrome, tennis/golfers elbow.
We Offer:
- DN as an additional treatment option if you are currently being seen in PT
- DN only visits after a brief evaluation
Process:
- If you are a current patient, dry needling can be discussed with your therapist and be incorporated into your current treatment
- If you are not a current patient and you wish to engage in a comprehensive physical therapy program:
- You can schedule a visit by direct access, or you may get a referral from your PCP, and an evaluation will be scheduled to create a comprehensive therapy program.
- If you are not a current patient and you wish to receive dry needling only.
- You will need to schedule a visit to be seen for a brief evaluation to discuss and assess the benefit and need for dry needling; dry needling will also be completed during this visit.
- Following visits will involve a quick reassessment and dry needling.
Cost: will range between $45-$85 depending on visit number and muscles needled.
