Welcome To Jaworski Physical Therapy

Tip of the Month:

Unsafe back packs are the number one cause of back pain in school age children.

It's that time again ....

BACK TO SCHOOL!

When shopping for back packs it's important to find one that is perfect for your child. The back pack should have wide, padded shoulder straps and a padded back. The wider the straps, the more supportive they are and the padding also makes them more comfortable. Make sure both straps are actually used! A back pack with many pockets and compartments is also ideal. Teach your child how to organize their back pack using the different sections. Also encourage them to pack light - only carry the items they really need. A back pack should weight no more than 10 to 20 percent of your child's body weight! You should also think practical. Rolling back packs may be great - but will be difficult to roll through the snow or up and down stairs.

Good luck getting ready for school!
